Product Description
The intramedullary nail system is an internal fixation device used for treating long bone fractures (e.g., femur, tibia, humerus). Its design involves inserting a main nail into the medullary canal and securing it with locking screws to stabilize the fracture. Due to its minimally invasive nature, high stability, and excellent biomechanical performance, it has become a key option in modern orthopedic surgery.
The main body of the intramedullary nail, usually made of titanium or stainless steel, inserted into the medullary canal to provide axial stability.
Used to secure the main nail to the bone, preventing rotation and shortening. Includes static locking screws (rigid fixation) and dynamic locking screws (allowing axial compression).
Seals the proximal end of the nail to reduce soft tissue irritation and enhance stability.
The system is inserted through small incisions, minimizing soft tissue damage and infection risks while promoting faster recovery.
The central placement of the nail ensures even load distribution, offering superior stability compared to plates and reducing fixation failure rates.
High stability allows early partial weight-bearing, minimizing complications from prolonged immobility.
Suitable for various fracture types (e.g., transverse, oblique, comminuted) and diverse patient age groups.
