What is Non-locking Plate?

In fact, many fractures are unstable fractures, and plaster and splinting are not able to play a therapeutic role, so orthopedic plates are needed at this time. The orthopedic plate implanted into the body can ensure that the fracture end is not under stress, and the fracture end can only gradually heal under relatively stable conditions, and the orthopedic plate plays the role of stability. The fracture can be healed smoothly by plate and nail fixation, while there is no way for the fracture to grow without the plate.

What are the types of Non-locking Plates?

Dynamic Compression Plate

In the earliest bone plate designs, the screw holes were circular, but the Dynamic Compression Plate was an improvement in design. These plates have specially shaped screw holes with an angled flat surface at one end.
Anatomic plate/angle plate
Anatomic plates/angle locking plates are special contoured plates for different anatomical sites. For example, distal humeral plates, distal tibial plates, or proximal tibial plates.
Limited Contact Dynamic Compression plates
The Limited Contact Dynamic Compression Plate or LCDCP is an attempt to reduce the bone footprint. the LCDCP has a grooved lower surface that minimizes the bone contact of the plate.
Reconstruction Plates
These plates have notched edges to allow bending in any desired plane. These plates are very adaptable and can be used in complex anatomic sites such as the distal humerus, pelvis, and clavicle.
 

What is the fixation for non-locking steel plate?

Herbert Screw

Herbert Screws have headless design, it means that the screw is completely embedded in the bone, without any protrusions to cause tissue irritation even in intra-articular placement.The thread design of the Screw creates compression and provides fracture stability. As the proximal threads engage the bone, the fracture is drawn together, helping to create and maintain stability of the fracture site.

Headless Compression Screw

Headless Compression Screw is an instrument used in the internal fixation of an unstable scaphoid fracture. It is a headless screw with the thread along its entire length. The two halves of the screw have a different pitch though, which causes compression of the fracture.

3.5mm,4.0mm,4.5mm,6.5mm,7.3 mm Cannulated Screw

The 3.5mm,4.0mm,4.5mm,6.5mm and 7.3 mm hollow screws provide interfracture compression and absolute fracture stability. The screws can be placed precisely by a percutaneous technique because the path of the hollow screw is guided by a small-diameter guidewire, thus minimizing disruption of soft tissue and vascular flow.

Titanium Cable

When significant fracture displacement and dysfunction are characteristic, treatment of these fractures requires balancing muscle forces, but the fragments are too small to be fixed by large internal implants. Titanium cables can be used with conventional internal fixation to obtain better stability.
