What are orthopedic instruments?

At CZMEDITECH, we provide a range of orthopaedic instruments for surgeons and paediatricians providing surgery of any problems involving the musculoskeletal system. Our orthopaedic instruments are designed for surgical and non-surgical procedures concerning musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, infections etc.

Our range of orthopaedic instruments include:

Kerrison Ronguer - It is specifically crafted for use in removal of the posterior arch of the vertebrae by cutting through the laminae. It could also be used for hemi-laminectomy procedures.

Bone Cutting Forceps - For cutting and removing bones during orthopaedic surgery.

Bone Curette - This instrument is used to carefully smooth bone. With a small spoon on the end of the tool similar to that of an ice-cream scoop, a curette allows the surgeon to scrape away bone.

Retractor - used to separate and manipulate the edges of a surgical incision or wound, or to hold back underlying organs and tissues so that body parts underneath may be accessed.

Plate Benders -  Used to bend a plate to the appropriate configuration and during bone fracture surgery.

What are examples of orthopedic devices?

The orthopedics space is continually evolving. Musculoskeletal disorders such as degenerative conditions, trauma, and deformities cover a broad range such as osteoarthritis, bone fracture, joint dislocation, and scoliosis. 

Common medical devices used for orthopedic applications include, but are not limited to:

• Joint replacement implants, such as total hip arthroplasty and finger joint replacement

• Spine stabilization implants, such as spinal rods, screws, and fixation plates

• Restorative and/or regenerative implants, such as bone morphogenetic proteins and cartilage scaffolds

• Instruments that accompany implants, such as inserters, drivers, and surgical tools.
